What happens to the old device?

During activation, you’ll select the device you’re replacing. That device is retired in your account:

• Removed from your support account and ineligible for upgrades, support, or software updates.
• No feature keys; ownership cannot be transferred or resold.

How to Purchase a WatchGuard Trade Up Product

Step-by-Step

1. Confirm Eligibility
   Check WatchGuard’s eligibility charts (hardware & virtual/Cloud). Make sure the device you plan to replace is active and registered in the correct WatchGuard support account.
2. Purchase the Correct Trade Up SKU
   Order the SKU that matches your current device. (The up-to-25% discount is embedded in the SKU pricing.)
3. Activate & Retire the Old Device
   During activation of the new product, select the product you’re replacing within the same support account. The old device will be retired and the new appliance becomes active.

Important Notes

• The traded device must be activated in the same support account where the new Trade Up product is activated.
• HA promotion appliances are not eligible.
• Devices previously retired/deactivated are not eligible.

Terms and Conditions:

• The product you’re trading in must be registered and active in the same WatchGuard Support Center account where you activate the new Trade Up product.
• Once you activate the new product, the old one is retired. That means it’s removed from your account, and no longer eligible for upgrades, updates, or support.
• Retired devices can’t be transferred, resold, or reused—they’re permanently disabled in WatchGuard’s systems.
• Only products bought through an authorized WatchGuard reseller qualify. The discount is already built into the Trade Up SKU price.
• Devices received from special promotions (like High Availability/HA promos) are not eligible for Trade Up.
• WatchGuard reserves the right to disable any Trade Up product if the program rules are not followed.
