Our clients view Securus VPN management as an improvement over frame relay in three key areas:

• Safety - Many people think that frame relay is more secure because it bypasses the internet and provide directed point-to-point data transfer. Unfortunately, this data is usually transferred unencrypted. This means that anyone could walk into your phone closet, attach a packet-sniffer and notebook computer to your frame relay line and download your data with impunity. It could be happening, unbeknownst to you right this very second and it could have been going on for years! However, with Securus VPN Management, we create a point-to-point 3DES, 168-bit encrypted tunnel that safely and securely transfers your data. A recent government study revealed that it would take approximately 17 trillion labor hours to crack a 3DES, 168-bit encryption. Even so, if someone or even a team of people succeeded in breaking your encryption key, the amount of your data they could possibly retrieve would very minimal, assuming we set your encryption key to change at regular intervals.

Web Blocking:

One of the most fascinating features of your Securus service is your ability to tame and control the Internet. Because of the many distractions on the Internet, you may be losing countless hours of productivity as your employees "take a few seconds" to shop, play games, chat, or much worse, share files and download pornography. With your subscription to Securus, you can block access to these distractions with a flexibility that may astound you.

There are 14 different categories that you can allow or disallow, including: Alcohol and Tobacco, Illegal Gaming, Militant/Extremist, Drug Culture, Satanic/Cult, Intolerance, Gross Depictions, Violence/Profanity, Search Engines, Sports and Leisure, Sex Education, Sexual Acts, Full Nudity, Partial/Artistic Nudity. Online engages a third party to evaluate every web page for content and assigns the page to the appropriate category, and your system is updated weekly. From there, Securus gives you the flexibility to specifically allow or disallow web sites, even if they fall into any category you have chosen to block. (For example: You've chosen to block Search Engines, but you need to allow an industry specific search engine. Securus provides you that flexibility.)

Additionally, you have the ability to assign tailored access rights (policies) to individual users, user groups or departments, or even company-wide. (For example: The accounting department has need only to reach one specific application on the internet. You can customize the department's access, while assigning full access rights to the executive staff.) Also, Securus can program access rights to specific times, for example: some employees may need to do some internet research and they do not have internet access at home. You can allow open (or modified) access to the internet during the lunch hour or after work hours, without dimenishing productivity.

Securus can also write custom rules for example, to block Kazaa or other file sharing programs, streaming radio, AOL access and much more. With Securus Web Blocking, you own the Internet!

What's Included:

Securus subscriptions start in cost from $69.00 per month (Securus Lite; SOHO6tc, 10-Users). Securus support for SOHO units include configuration changes, security monitoring and management, compiling and publishing of limited logs and reports, and unlimited support. For an additional one-time fee, you can purchase a license for the Web Blocker (or Web Content Filtering) Feature. Securus will help you set up and manage the web blocking features (see web blocking) at no additional charge. You can optionally purchase Mobile User Virtual Private Network (MUVPN) licenses for secure remote access to your network for a one-time cost, and Securus will completely manage your VPN connectivity and provide unlimited support at no additional monthly charge. SOHO units will accommodate a maximum of 50 network nodes, and eleven VPN connections (see pricing). As with all Securus agreements, your firewall appliance is covered under our extended warranty for the life of the agreement (completely configured replacement within 24-hours in continental US; 48-hours elsewhere).

Securus subscriptions employing the Model 700 and above include complete monitoring, management and unlimited support. Web Blocker (see web blocker) and VPN management (click here) is included. Model's 700 and above will accommodate unlimited network nodes; you are only limited by the processing speeds of the firewall appliance. You also receive complete "read-only" access to the following monitoring tools: Bandwidth Meter (shows how your bandwidth is being used in real time), ServiceWatch (gauges server CPUs activity), Status Reports, Authentication List (shows you who is connected to your network at a glance), and Blocked Sites List (shows you IP addresses whose access to your network has been blocked; Intrusion Prevention). Even more valuable, you receive "HostWatch", a utility that allows you to see in real-time who is coming into your network and where your employees are going on the internet. Securus records these logs for your convenience, and these logs can be played back to graphically see what has happened with your network at any given time. With Securus unlimited support, you have answers to all of your questions at your fingertips. Certified Securus engineers can implement changes on the fly, without accidently overwriting or disrupting important configuration files that could inadvertently cause hours of downtime and expense.

Another feature included with your Securus subscription, employing the Model 700 and above, is the SMTP Proxy filtering feature. With this feature-rich option, you can filter incoming e-mails by size, line-length, number of recipients (typically cuts SPAM by 50%!), and more. Another important feature is the ability to strip off e-mail attachments. As you may know, most viruses are propagated via e-mail attachments (.scr, .exe, .pif, etc.) If you do not typically have a need for these attachments during the course of your business, it is safer to strip them off. The user will receive a notification that the file was stripped. Further, as Securus engineers are notified of the latest breaking threats, they can act preemptively upon your behave to save your network from virus exposure. 24-Hour Monitoring:

Online Security Service invests regularly in maintaining a state-of-the-art monitoring center. Every packet of information that comes in or goes out of your network is scrutinized by our assortment of utilities, continually scanning for unusual activity (denial of service attacks, anomalies or other potentially threatening activity). A series of audio and visual cues and alerts promptly notify the Securus engineering staff the moment any suspicious or abnormal actions are detected, allowing the engineer to act quickly and pre-emptively for the complete protection of your network.
